Chances are, if you were in Los Angeles at any point in the past couple months, you noticed posters for from the international traveling poster exhibition Yo! What happened to Peace?
Well, if you couldn’t make it to the City of Angels, now there’s a new book that has page after page of the posters all with an anti-war and pro-peace theme. All posters shown in the book are from the traveling exhibition, Yo! What happened to Peace?
This book catalogs the 220+ handcrafted anti-war and pro-peace prints by over 120 artists that have come to define the touring poster exhibition, including Shepard Fairey/OBEY, Josh MacPhee, Mear One, Seripop, and many others.
The Yo! show had its beginnings in 2002 during the march to war in Iraq. Starting originally with 14 posters, it has since grown into an international exhibition, featuring work from a growing roster of over 130 artists.
Past shows have included Tokyo, San Francisco, New York, Milan, Rejkyavik, Washington DC, Boston, and Chicago. It is currently on exhibition in the Ogilvy offices in New York and satellite projects and installations are also going on during the DNC, the Electric Picnic in Ireland and out at Burning Man.
