” A Tribute To Atlanta’s Creative Community! “

– Go ‘head and get your costume ready! –

Eric Nine hand selected some of ATL’s top tier who were what he considered “beasts” at their particular crafts. What better way to portray their artistic excellence than to make them literally beasts. Combining forces of phenomenal photographer MICHAEL MOORE from Studio 8, Eric Nine set up photo sessions, provided a few props and directed the “beasts” to the exactness of his vision. After choosing the best photos, he took them back to the lab and exercised his artistic mastery.

Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito prolly had one of the flyest Hip-Hop radio shows ever! Why? Because they did what the hell they wanted. It was damn near unlimited from the language and conversation to the music, guests, phone calls, jokes and what ever else they decided to do. I was put on by a couple of brothers in Art and Design. mainly my braddah U.S.A(Universal Scientist Allah) and my other braddah Jax. This was like ’92-’93. The exclusives were the shit. They played everything. Some things you only heard on a Stretch and Bob show. They played Demos from some of your favorite artists as well as letting cats Freestyle on air. I mean artists that weren’t even known yet. They blew after the fact.

Although I never made it through a full night of listening, Friday morning was like Wic check day. I’m trying to hear what my braddah’s recorded cause my recorder was wack. HAAAAAA! It was straight treats people. Always. They helped me to enjoy Hip-Hop even more. They reminded me of us and it would be an honor to just get invited to the show. We was fortunate to get there in 2000 when it was called the CMFamalam Show and return numerous times as Squeeze Radio. They just recorded their last show 10-21-10. 20th year anniversary and it was sad to see it go but through all the various tapes, memories, internet uploads and effects it had n the world will forever live on. A toast to the greatest, FANGGGGGGGG!

Why Facebook is selling you out — and won’t stop

– by Bill Snyder –

Facebook and its developers could bring in as much as $1 billion this year; only a bozo would think that Mark Zuckerberg will give that up to protect the privacy of his users

My buddy Robert X. Cringely wonders if Facebook is evil or merely incompetent. That’s an easy one: both — not to mention arrogant and greedy. But how surprising is that? Facebook is in business to make money, whether it’s from advertising or the increasingly attractive treasure trove of third-party apps. Never mind that “don’t be evil” stuff. Mrs. Zuckerberg’s boy Mark wants to be a billionaire for real — not just on paper.

You guys out there in cyber ville know all that. But I guess I have to remind you of something once said by the late Jimmy Doohan in his role as Scotty on “Star Trek”: “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”

Facebook has fooled us not just once, but over and over again, blithely exposing users’ private information to any advertiser or creep who happens to get interested. It’s a tired drama. The company messes up, it gets caught, the media freaks out, the company apologizes. Then the cycle starts all over, as it did this week when the Wall Street Journal learned that it’s not just Facebook harvesting personal data — Facebook’s platform developers are in on it as well. That data is being shared with advertisers and Internet tracking companies, whether or not users have opted for privacy.

What’s more, Facebook has apparently decided it’s OK for Sarah Palin to use her Facebook page to wage a political crusade, but it’s not OK for grassroots activists organizing boycotts against large corporations like Target and BP. For these and a multitude of other transgressions, Boy Billionaire Zuckerberg is the Tech’s Bottom Line Bozo of the Month.

But he has to share that distinction with you, the Facebook user. Jeez, don’t you get it? Facebook is not your, well, friend. So why do you persist in making Zuckerberg and his investors even richer?

Selling your privacy
The root of Facebook’s most recent transgression (allowing third-party apps to harvest user IDs) is greed — greed for the millions of dollars that app developers are pulling from the site. Facebook wants a piece of that action, and if privacy, freedom of speech, or any other trivial concern users may have get in the way, that’s just too bad.

The mechanics of this outrage have been well publicized. Simply put, something called a referrer URL comes to life whenever you click on a hyperlink or an ad. The referrer tells the page you’re going to what page you’ve come from. That happens all over the Web, including here on InfoWorld, where we use it to analyze traffic.

Art Sole Life went down or rather blew sky high in a good way. Fly Art, good people and a good cause. Just in case some of you may have thought that this is all Sole Plus is about… think again. Here is a short documentary called “Away From The Sole: Peachtree and Trinity” that was shot a month prior to the Art show. It documents the lives of some homeless people that Sole Plus was able to provide with brand new shoes. Along side of Shawn S. Heath of “New Way Of Life Ministries” who have been providing food every Tuesday for the last 5 years, try to give the less fortunate some form of happiness if only for a short time.

Negative thinking appears to be more prevalent than positive thinking. It seems that with most people positive thinking requires some effort, whereas negative thinking comes easily and uninvited. This has much to do with education and the environment one has been living in.

If you have been brought up in a happy and positive atmosphere, where people value success and self-improvement, then it will be easier for you to think positively and expect success. If you have been brought up under poor or difficult situations, you will probably go on expecting difficulties and failure.

We all view everything through our predominant mental attitude. If our thoughts are positive, that is fine, but if they are negative, our lives and circumstances will probably mirror these thoughts.

If you believe that you are going to fail, you will unconsciously sabotage every opportunity to succeed. If you are afraid of meeting new people or having close relationships, you will do everything to avoid people and relationships, and then complain that you are lonely and nobody loves you.

Do you often think about difficulties, failure and disasters? Do you keep thinking about the negative news you have seen on the TV or read in the newspapers?

Do you see yourself stuck and unable to improve your life or your health? Do you frequently think that you do not deserve happiness or money, or that it is too difficult to get them? If you do, then you will close your mind, see no opportunities, and behave and react in such ways, as to repel people and opportunities.

The mind does not usually judge or examine thoughts and opinions before accepting them. If what it hears, sees and reads is always negative, it accepts this as the standard way of thinking and behavior.

The media constantly bombards the mind with a lot of information about disasters, catastrophes, wars and other unhappy events. This information sinks into the subconscious mind, and then manifests as your habitual manner of thinking. By occupying the mind with depressing and pessimistic thoughts you radiate negative energy into the surrounding world, thus creating and recreating more negativity, failures and disasters.

The mind is neutral energy. The way you think determines whether the results are positive and beneficial or negative and harmful. It is the same of energy acting in different ways.

The good news are that persistent inner work can change habits of thinking. You must be willing to put energy and time to pursue positive thinking, in order to change your mental attitude.

A few Tips:

– Each time you catch yourself thinking a negative thought, reject the thought, and think a positive one instead.

– If you catch yourself visualizing failure, visualize success instead.

– If you hear yourself uttering negative words, change to positive words instead.

– When you say, “I cannot”, say, “I can”.

– Do you repeat negative words and phrases in your mind? Change them to positive ones.

– Open your mind to positive attitude and expect positive results.

– Decide that from today, from this very moment, you are leaving negative thinking behind, and starting on the way toward positive thinking and behavior.

It is never too late to change your attitude and your life.
